The Exchanging Program between the School of Philosophy, Fudan University and the School of Humanities and Philosophy, Ghent University

In 2020, Fudan University formally signed a five-year exchanging program agreement with Ghent  University, Belgium. The School of Philosophy of Fudan University and the School of Humanities and Philosophy of Ghent University ought to annually send 1-6 qualified students(who are required to have good academic performance and offer necessary proof of language ability) to each other for an exchange which lasts for 4-6 months. In order to reduce the financial burden of students and their families, the selected participants are free from tuition fees, application fees, examination fees and other such fees. Both parties will jointly formulate academic programs and arrange learning courses on the principle of mutual benefit, and respect each other's cultural traditions and value system at all times. This agreement will also activate the teachers exchange and research cooperation, the two parties will jointly formulate academic research plans and exchange relevant academic materials.

Ghent University, located in the second biggest city of Belgium, is a fast growing and large scaled university with about 15000 faculty members and 46000 students, and offers almost all the subjects covered by the Flemish education system. The School of Philosophy of Ghent University is especially famous for Chinese philosophy and Buddhist studies. The school of philosophy of Fudan University hopes to promote the collaboration with Ghent University through this program, so as to train students to become philosophical scholars with both solid academic foundation and broad international vision.
