The Exchanging Program between the School of Philosophy, Fudan University and the Faculty of Humanities, Shinshu University

In 2021, the School of Philosophy of Fudan University formally signed a five-year Exchange Program Agreement with the Faculty of Humanities of Shinshu University, Japan. Within the validity period of the Agreement, the two parties agree to annually send 1-2 graduate or undergraduate students to each other for an exchange which lasts for 1 semester or 2. The participants will not be charged of tuition fees, application fees, examination fees and other such fees, and can also obtain enough help and consultation from the host university in enrollment, courses selection, accommodation, academic advising and cultural integration guidance so that they can quickly adapt to the local life and focus on studies. After the end of the exchange period, they will receive transcripts from the host university as the proof of their academic completion. Credits obtained from the other party, if complied with relevant regulations, can also be transferred back to their home university. This agreement will also activate the teachers exchanging and academic cooperation between the two parties.

Shinshu University is a Japanese national university with over 1000 faculty members, 10000 students and a good reputation. The Faculty of Humanities has great advantages in Chinese philosophy, Japanese philosophy, Indian philosophy, Buddhist studies and continental philosophy. The school of philosophy of Fudan University hopes to further promote the existed collaboration with Shinshu University through this program, so as to make up for our shortcomings in the study of Japanese philosophy, and to carry out cooperation with Japan and South Korea in the aspect of East Asian civilization studies, to jointly train East Asian philosophy scholars, and thus promote the spread of Chinese culture in the East Asian world.
