In 2019, Fudan University formally signed a five-year cooperate agreement with the School of Philosophy of the University of Graz, Austria. The two parties reached an agreement that each party should annually send 1-4 qualified students(who are required to have good academic performance and offer necessary proof of language ability) to each other for an exchange which lasts for 1 semester or 2. The selected participants are free from tuition fees, application fees, examination fees and other such fees, and are obliged to bear only the expenses for medical insurance, transportation, accommodation, learning materials and some special activities (such as language class and physical education class). After obtaining 24-30ECTS during the exchange period, they will receive transcripts in English version from the host university as the proof of their academic completion. Credits obtained from the other party, if complied with relevant regulations, can also be transferred back to their home university.

The University of Graz, which is located in a city with convenient transportation and low living cost, is a large scaled and well reputed comprehensive university, and is the Alma Mater of many famous scholars such as Ludwig Boltzmann, Alfred Wigner and Schrodinger. The school of philosophy of Fudan University hopes to promote the collaboration with the University of Graz through this program, so as to train students to become philosophical scholars with both solid academic foundation and broad international vision.
