On February 11, 2025, the School of Philosophy at Fudan University signed an academic cooperation agreement with the Edinburgh College of Art (ECA), further consolidating the collaborative relationship between the two institutions in relevant fields.

The Edinburgh College of Art (ECA), part of the University of Edinburgh, is one of the largest and oldest art schools in Europe. Located in Edinburgh’s historic Old Town, ECA employs approximately 200 faculty and research staff and provides higher education to over 2,000 students in the fields of art and design, architecture, art history, and music. The college is internationally renowned for its research in contemporary art, with its graduate film programs receiving wide acclaim. It also maintains close partnerships with many globally recognized museums and institutions.

This agreement builds on previous collaboration between the two institutions, particularly their joint efforts in promoting the International Awards for Art Criticism (IAAC). It marks a further deepening of academic exchange and cooperation. Under this agreement, and in compliance with applicable laws, both parties commit to principles of mutual collaboration and sincere cooperation—sharing information, experience, and expertise; addressing risks and costs collectively; and jointly seeking solutions. The agreement emphasizes mutual learning and aims to promote the joint development of both institutions.

This collaboration is of great significance for undertaking activities and projects aligned with the strategic goals of both institutions. It will enhance cooperation in teaching, research, and community engagement, and will contribute to elevating the international influence of both schools—particularly in the field of the philosophy of art.
