
Born on August 16, 1962, in Ruichang, Jiangxi Province.
In 1980, in Shandong University to study philosophy. In 1984, obtained a Bachelor of Philosophy degree with a thesis on Spinoza's concept of nature.
In 1986, admitted to the Institute of German Philosophy at Hubei University. In 1989, received a Master of Philosophy degree from Wuhan University for researching Gadamer's ontological hermeneutics.
In 1989, in the Department of Philosophy at Wuhan University for a doctoral degree. In 1992, obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree with a study on Schelling's speculative romantic philosophy.
From 1995 to 2003, worked in the Department of Philosophy at Hunan Normal University, promoted to Professor of Philosophy in 1997 and became a doctoral supervisor in 1999.
From 2001 to 2003, as a Humboldt Scholar in Germany, engaged in research on Schelling's philosophy of revelation at Berlin, with Professor Hans Poser as the supervisor.
Since 2003, Professor at the School of Philosophy, Fudan University, and Academic Leader of the Ethics discipline.
Selected as a New Century Talent by the Ministry of Education in 2007.
Promoted to Second-Level Professor of Liberal Arts at Fudan University in 2013.
In 2016, founded the semi-annual journal Academia Ethica and served as its Editor-in-Chief.
