Personal Information

HU Jiechen is an associate professor at the Department of Religious Studies. He holds a PhD degree in Religious Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His main areas of research are Daoism and popular religions in late imperial China. He specializes in the documentary and social history of the Wenchang cults, spirit-writing communities, morality books, and Confucian altars.
